A Delegation from Al-Syafi'iyyah University, Jakarta, Visits Zarqa University and Zarqa Technical College A delegation from Al-Syafi'iyyah University in Jakarta, Indonesia, led by Senator Dr. Fedri Ferdous, Senator of Jakarta and member of the Higher Education Committee in Indonesia, visited Zarqa University and Zarqa Technical College. The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Nidal Al-Rumahi, President of the University, and Prof. Ghaida Abu Roman, Dean of Zarqa Technical College. At the start of the meeting, the delegation was introduced to Zarqa University’s mission and vision, presented by the university president. He emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting international students and its readiness to welcome more Indonesian students to pursue various academic degrees. He reiterated that the university strives to serve all students and meet their needs while adhering to established regulations. Prof. Ghaida Abu Roman provided an overview of Zarqa Technical College, highlighting its offered specializations, the diverse nationalities studying there, and the facilities available to students to facilitate their academic journey. She emphasized the college's dedication to equipping students with the knowledge and skills to become ambassadors of the institution globally. Senator Dr. Fedri Ferdous discussed higher education in Indonesia, as well as Al-Syafi'iyyah University’s specializations and programs. The delegation then toured Zarqa Technical College’s workshops and laboratories, meeting with faculty members and students. Both parties explored future plans to introduce new joint specializations accessible to students worldwide, in addition to the current unique programs offered by the college. They also discussed the establishment of a specialized center for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, making it easier for international students to learn the language. The delegation expressed their admiration for the advanced academic level of Zarqa University and Zarqa Technical College, as well as their esteemed global reputation. They affirmed their desire to increase the number of Indonesian students studying at both institutions, noting Jordan’s distinctive status and balanced environment, which positively impacts international students. The visit concluded with a campus tour and an exchange of commemorative shields and gifts between the two sides.
